Opal Doublets

Opal Doublets (sometimes spelt dublets), are an inexpensive way to purchase a very bright and colorful opal. Opal doublets are made with a thin piece of opal that is cemented onto another stone. The opal is given a dark background before being cemented onto another backing stone thus Opal Doublets look very similar to black opal and are available either single or in parcels at wholesale prices.
