Coober Pedy Opal Belemnite
Red Opal Fossil Opal
The opal belemnite shown here is actually one pipe that over time has become two pieces, and is a fine example of the quality of opal that Coober Pedy has become renown for worldwide.
Both segments have generous displays of red visible from all angles, with green and orange dancing from between the patches of red. This opal belemnite has been left with the back in the natural material from which it was born giving you an insight into history.
The larger pipe segment is 47.2 x 21 x 16.4mm in size and has an empty chamber at the top, while the other measures 34 x 21 x 16.6mm.
The smaller segment does contain a few surface cracks.
