Aboriginal Dot Painting on Canvas
This piece by Dorothy Williams is more contemporary and does not fully rely on the dot painting technique. It has an interesting combination of old and new and tells a tale of the mythical Aboriginal dreamtime in a modern Australia. The local creatures, such as the goannas, witchery grubs and honey ants, highlight the natural richness of the land on this very large canvas.
Please Note:
During our travels to Coober Pedy each year, we are shown many authentic
Aboriginal dot paintings by the artists themselves. Of these, we select
a few to be advertised on this site. All of our dot paintings are guaranteed
to be the real thing, painted solely by the native peoples of this land
living in and around Coober Pedy.
