Coober Pedy Opal Snail
Various Fossil Opal
If you appreciate the significance of these fantastic fossils of the creature it once was some 150 million years before, then this specimen is truly going to captivate you. As you can see in the photos of this opal snail, it is still in great condition without losing much of its detail at all. What the photos don't show is that the shell of the snail has been replaced by opal, and from what you can see it's a fiery red with flecks of green present also. The snail has not been polished and much of the sandstone it was mined from still remains. Perfect for any collectors set.
