Crystal Opal from Andamooka, Australia.
From within the very heart of this solid crystal opal gemstone radiates a seductive red of intense shades to captivate any who look at it. Purple is abundant in its display, as are orange, gold and green. Hints of yellow and blue shyly show themselves adding to the profusion of colors that leap out at you from each and every angle possible.
The unique shape adds to the character this opal has to offer. Generous in size, 33 x 17mm this specimen would look fantastic set as a pendant, possibly in a choker style of setting sitting high on the throat, this looks fabulous as I tried it. Both white and yellow gold look great when laid next to this piece, each bringing out colors to suit.
This opal gemstone was mined from the Andamooka mining region, and contains no visible faults or inclusions.
