Our opal doublet necklaces are all unique and backed
with a special type of glass, similar to the type used
for lead lighting.
The characteristics and chemical composition of this
type of glass are very similar to that of opal itself.
Both expand and contract, heat and cool at almost identical
rates. This reduces any stresses to the opal itself
making the doublets very strong and durable.
